Daughter #3 didn't come home on Thursday night, she's 18 and often stays over at her friend's house, so I wasn't overly worried, but rang her yesterday around lunchtime to check she was ok. "Did you think I was dead?", she asked. I explained I didn't, or wouldn't have expected her to answer the phone. "I'm fine Mum" she said "We're just driving home now, but the power steering has gone on J's car, so it might take a bit longer than usual". Oddly, I didn't feel very reassured. I pointed out they ought to stop and call the garage. "You worry too much, Mum". Silly me for worrying about them hurtling around with faulty steering!
